For researchers and professionals in their mid-career who are enthusiastic about studying contemporary Muslim cultures and Islamic civilization, the UK’s Chevening OCIS Fellowship 2026 is a distinguished, fully supported opportunity. This fellowship, which is hosted by the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies (OCIS), is a collaboration between OCIS and the UK Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office. Citizens from a few chosen nations in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East are welcome.
During their five months at Oxford, fellows will work with top scholars, do independent research, and attend seminars. Research allowances, living expenses, and return travel are all covered by the program. In addition to joining a global network of professionals influencing intellectual and policy discussions globally, participants will acquire academic expertise, leadership abilities, and cross-cultural perspectives.
Eligibility Criteria :
- Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Algeria, Bangladesh, Egypt, Iraq, Indonesia, Jordan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Lebanon, Malaysia, Libya, Morocco, Pakistan, Nigeria, Occupied Palestinian Territories, Senegal, Philippines, Syria, Sudan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Tunisia, or Uzbekistan are among the nations where one must be a citizen.
- At the time of application, have a postgraduate degree or comparable professional training and experience in a related sector.
- Exhibit substantial professional and/or academic research experience (at least postgraduate level).
