Eligibility Criteria:

  • Recent PhD or terminal degree: To guarantee they are in the early stages of their careers, candidates must have obtained their PhD (or the highest degree equivalent to it) within the last three years.
  • Research excellence: To show an applicant’s potential, a solid record of publications in respectable journals or acknowledged innovative accomplishments is necessary.
  • The proposed study must complement and advance the strategic research areas specified by the American University of Sharjah in order to be in line with AUS aims.
  • Restrictions on eligibility: In order to promote variety in academic backgrounds, graduates who earned their PhDs at AUS are not eligible for this grant.
  • Faculty supervisor: In order to ensure appropriate mentoring and project viability, applicants must first find an AUS faculty member who is willing to serve as their supervisor.

  • Stipend every month: up to AED 20,000, or roughly USD 5,400.
  • Fellowship Duration: Full-time commitment for two years.
