International students aspiring to pursue higher education abroad but unable to afford it are encouraged to apply for the University of Malaya (UM) Bright Scholarships 2025-26 in Malaysia. Both Malaysian and overseas applicants can apply for this fully funded PhD scholarship program. The award covers full tuition fees for seven semesters along with a monthly stipend to support living expenses. Eligibility Criteria :
- Candidates must be younger than thirty when they apply.
Academic requirements:
- a bachelor’s degree, or its equivalent, with a CGPA higher than 3.70 from an accredited university.
- A minimum CGPA of 3.70/4.00 is required for a Master’s degree by research or a Master’s degree through mixed mode (dissertation and coursework).
Proof of English competence is required of international applicants:
- IELTS with a score of at least 6.5; or
- between 73 and 93 on the TOEFL; or
- CEFR B2 level.
- Note: The results of an English test are good for two years after the test date.
- Candidates cannot have any other scholarships from sponsors or organizations.
