The Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarship and Leadership Programme offers exceptional graduates and professionals from developing and emerging economies the chance to pursue fully funded graduate studies at the University of Oxford. The award covers 100% of tuition fees and provides a living grant of at least £20,780, along with leadership training, long-term mentoring, and global networking opportunities. Established in 2015 to honour Lord Weidenfeld’s 95th birthday, the programme has grown significantly through generous donations, including a £9 million gift from André Hoffmann in 2017, matched by £6 million from Oxford University. As part of the Oxford Graduate Scholarships initiative, funding is shared—40% from the University and 60% from supporters of the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Trust, including Fondation Hoffmann.

Eligibility Criteria :

  • must be submitting an application to the University of Oxford for a new graduate program.
  • should plan to return to their home nation after finishing their education.
  • Oxford students who are currently enrolled are not eligible unless they are already Scholars of Weidenfeld-Hoffmann
  • must show a direct connection between long-term professional objectives and the topic of study chosen.
  • should describe how next professional endeavors will enhance public life in the nation, the region, or beyond.
