MEXT Japan PNST Fellowship 2026 at Kyutech (Fully Funded)

Applications are open for the MEXT Japan PNST Fellowship 2026 at the Kyushu Institute of Technology (Kyutech). This fully funded fellowship in Japan is a joint program by the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA), the Government of Japan, and Kyutech. Under this fellowship, up to three candidates for the Master’s program and up to three candidates for the Doctoral program will be selected.

Awardees will receive the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship, which covers full tuition fees, a monthly living allowance, accommodation, international airfare, local transportation, and other related expenses. The fellowship is designed to offer participants comprehensive research opportunities in nano-satellite systems at Kyutech.

Eligibility Criteria :

  • Nationality: Candidates must be citizens of a non-spacefaring or developing country.
  • Nomination: The home institution must formally nominate the candidate.
  • Age Requirement: Must have been born on April 2, 1991, or later.
  • Background in academia:
  • A bachelor’s degree (or its equivalent) in a discipline relevant to engineering is required for the master’s program.
  • A master’s degree (or its equivalent) in a discipline relevant to engineering is required for doctoral programs.

Japan is the host nation.

Kyushu Institute of Technology (Kyutech) is the host university.
