The Fully Funded Iceland Writers Retreat Program 2026 is now accepting applications. Participation fees, lodging, and return airfare will all be covered by this esteemed program.
Regardless of experience level or background, writers from all over the world are encouraged to apply for this special opportunity through the Iceland Writers Retreat (IWR). The five days of immersive literary and cultural experiences will take place in Reykjavík from April 15–19, 2026.
The program’s objective is to unite enthusiastic writers in order to improve their craft, exchange ideas, and create international relationships. You can apply without taking the IELTS, and you don’t have to be a professional writer.

Eligibility Criteria :
- Applicants must be at least eighteen years old to be eligible.
- Experience & Background: We welcome applications from authors with any experience level and from any background.
- Nationality: Candidates from any nation may enter the competition.
- It is not necessary to take the IELTS, however candidates must be fluent in English.
Selection Criteria: The following criteria will be used to choose recipients:
- their proven or prospective writing ability.
- Their need for money to go to the retreat.
Iceland is the host nation.

Options for Funding: Complete or Partial Funding.
