Women scientists and engineers from underdeveloped and emerging nations are supported by this prestigious international scholarship to pursue PhD or postdoctoral studies at top universities across the globe.

The program’s goal is to enable women in STEM to become powerful leaders who enhance science and socioeconomic development in their nations.

The fellowship, which is an initiative of the Schlumberger Foundation, an independent non-profit organization committed to advancing gender equality in STEM, funds outstanding women from low- and middle-income countries to pursue advanced research studies overseas.

Since its launch in 2004, the Faculty for the Future initiative has supported a global network of female researchers, educators, and mentors who are revolutionizing science and education globally.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • She must be a woman from a low- or middle-income nation (as the World Bank defines it).
  • A PhD or postdoctoral study in a STEM field (science, technology, engineering, or mathematics) should be pursued.
  • must be enrolled at, accepted into, or have applied to a research institute or university outside of her nation of residence.
  • should have a stellar academic record and a promising future in research.
  • must show that she intends to return home after finishing her education in order to aid in her nation’s socioeconomic advancement.
  • should demonstrate a demonstrated commitment to promoting women and girls in STEM, leadership abilities, and community involvement.
