Graduate students have the option to study in the United States with full funding thanks to the Oregon State University Scholarship. A $32,500 annual stipend, full tuition remission, and health insurance coverage are all included in the award. The goal of this grant is to fund a PhD program that focuses on creating spatially explicit decision models for protecting endangered species on DoD property. Using species distribution modeling, population dynamics, multi-criteria decision analysis, and cost-effectiveness optimization, the chosen student will work with an interdisciplinary team to develop decision-support tools. The research will support the development of practical conservation strategies that balance the need for military training with the preservation of species and direct significant conservation investments, in collaboration with DoD scientists, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service biologists, and installation managers.
Eligibility Criteria :
- A strong sense of motivation and enthusiasm for research are essential.

- familiarity with GIS tools and spatial analysis
- Have excellent communication abilities in writing, speaking, and numbers.
- Demonstrate outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate well with others.
