Eligibility Criteria:
- Current Enrollment: At the time of application, candidates must be enrolled in a doctoral (PhD) program.
- A passport and permanent residence in a Least Developed Country (LDC) or Lower Middle-Income Country (LMIC) as specified in the DAC List of ODA Recipients 2024–25 are prerequisites for citizenship and residency (applicants from Upper Middle-Income Countries are not eligible).
- Candidates must be enrolled in a PhD program at a university or research facility situated in an LDC or LMIC in order to be eligible.
- PhD Progress Requirement: By the start of the fellowship placement, candidates must have finished at least 12 months of their PhD program.
Benefits:
Monthly Stipend (£1,900):
Fellows will receive a monthly allowance of £1,900 to cover living expenses, including accommodation, meals, and daily needs during their stay in the UK.
One-Time Arrival Allowance (£200):
A settling-in grant of £200 will be provided upon arrival to assist with initial expenses such as local transportation, supplies, or personal items.
Return Airfare Tickets:
The fellowship includes round-trip economy-class airfare from the fellow’s home country to the United Kingdom and back after the completion of the program.
Visa Costs:
All visa application fees required for entry into the UK will be fully covered by the fellowship.
Biometric Residence Permit (BRP):
The cost of obtaining the Biometric Residence Permit, a requirement for temporary residence in the UK, will also be included and reimbursed as part of the fellowship support.
