The goal of the Hungarian government’s Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship is to draw exceptional students from around the world and internationalize Hungarian higher education. For overseas students pursuing bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in Hungary, this fully financed program pays for tuition, housing, monthly stipends, and healthcare. It provides more than 1,200 full-degree programs in a variety of subjects and specialties, based on bilateral educational agreements between Hungary and more than 90 partner nations on five continents. Thousands of gifted students are invited to study in the center of Europe each year thanks to the scholarship, where they will receive a top-notch education and establish both personal and professional ties with Hungary. Eligibility Criteria :
- All foreign applicants are eligible
- Ineligibility: Those who hold dual Hungarian nationality or are citizens of Hungary are not permitted to apply.
- Age Requirement: By August 31, 2025, candidates must be at least eighteen years old.
- Enrollment Requirement: Candidates must not be enrolled in any self-financed higher education program in Hungary.
- Prior Recipients: Students who have already been awarded the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship are not permitted to reapply.

Scholarships for Undergraduate, Graduate, Master’s, and PhD programs

Benefits :
- Tuition-Free Education: All study levels are completely exempt from paying tuition.
Monthly Allowance:
- Living expenditures for non-degree, bachelor’s, master’s, and one-tier master’s programs are HUF 43,700 (€ €110) a month for a full year till completion.
- Doctoral Programs: HUF 140,000 (€ €365) per month for the first four semesters and HUF 180,000 (≈ €470) per month for the second four semesters, for a total of twelve months annually.
- Accommodation Support: HUF 40,000 per month for rent throughout the scholarship period, or free dorm placement (note: this may not cover full rent in larger cities).
- Medical Insurance: Medical care in accordance with Hungarian law with additional medical coverage up to HUF 65,000 (€ €170) annually per individual.
