Are you prepared to spend a memorable summer in Germany? The HZB International Summer Program 2026, a fully financed eight-week research opportunity in Berlin from July 6 to August 28, 2026, is currently accepting applications.
The program, which is housed at the campuses of the Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin (HZB), gives chosen students the opportunity to carry out independent research projects under the guidance of seasoned HZB experts. Participants will work in a global setting at one of Europe’s top research facilities while gaining invaluable practical experience in scientific research.
The finest aspect? IELTS is not required, and there is no application fee. The program is a great chance for young researchers to broaden their academic horizons and discover Germany’s thriving scientific community because it accepts bachelor’s and master’s students from all over the world.
About twenty students are chosen annually to participate in the HZB International Summer Student Program (ISSP), where they will work with professionals, contribute to actual research projects, and get a taste of living in one of the most vibrant cities in Europe.

Eligibility Criteria:
- All nationalities of students are welcome to apply, including those from outside the EU.
- A relevant field, such as physics, chemistry, material science, structural biology, mathematics, engineering, life sciences, environmental sciences, or a similar discipline, must be a current undergraduate student.
- At the time of application, a minimum of two years of full-time university study must have been completed.
