The Santa Fe Institute UCR Program 2026 is now accepting applications from international students looking for fully financed opportunities. This competitive 10-week residential research program, which is open to undergraduate students worldwide, provides practical experience in complexity science through projects supervised by mentors. Participants develop their research subjects early in the program by collaborating with SFI experts to examine the evolution, adaptation, and interaction of complex systems. The program will take place at the Santa Fe Institute in New Mexico from May 31 to August 8, 2026. Advanced theories, analytical techniques, and integrative datasets from the natural, social, and physical sciences are introduced to students. Workshops, seminars, and professional training are all part of the program. A $7,000 stipend, lodging, meals, and travel assistance are provided to participants, making it a fantastic fully sponsored research opportunity.
Eligibility Criteria :
- Candidates must be enrolled either full-time or part-time in an associate’s or bachelor’s degree-granting program.
- Even if they are not enrolled during the transition summer, students who are transferring between colleges are still eligible to apply.
- Candidates must anticipate graduating from college by December 2026 or later.
- Not eligible are recent high school graduates who have not yet enrolled in college.
- Participants must be available to start on Sunday, May 31, and commit to the whole 10-week program.
