For international students, the Joint Japan/World Bank–Yokohama National University Scholarship is a fully funded opportunity that includes a JPY 200,000 monthly living stipend in addition to full tuition, housing, transport, and health insurance.
Through this program, exceptional professionals from developing nations can enroll in Yokohama National University’s Master of Infrastructure Management (IMP) program during the 2026–2028 academic year. The fellowship, which is sponsored by the World Bank and offered in collaboration with the Japanese government, aims to improve technical and leadership skills in infrastructure planning and policy.
The IMP program integrates engineering, economics, management, and law to equip students to effectively contribute to sustainable development in their home countries and address real-world infrastructure concerns.
Eligibility Criteria :
- Nationality: To be eligible for financing, one must be a citizen of a World Bank member nation; dual citizens of wealthy nations are not.
- Education: At least three years prior to the scholarship application deadline, candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree (or its equivalent) with an excellent academic record.
- Professional Experience: After earning a bachelor’s degree, candidates must have at least three years of recent, full-time job experience related to development (applicants from nations on the World Bank’s Fragile Situations list are exempt).
- Physical and mental well-being are prerequisites.
- Clause of Ineligibility: You cannot be an Executive Director, an employee, or a close relative of a World Bank or IMF staff member.
Japan is the host nation.
