One of the top Ivy League universities in the world, Yale University, hosts the esteemed pre-college intellectual enrichment program known as Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS). YYGS is an immersive summer program that focuses on academic achievement, critical thinking, leadership development, and global participation for high-achieving high school students worldwide.
The program invites students from all 50 U.S. states and more than 150 countries each year, creating a lively and diverse global community. During the summer months of June and July, participants live and study on Yale’s historic campus in New Haven, Connecticut, where they are exposed to university-level education in a top-notch academic environment.

Eligibility Criteria:
- Age Requirement: At the time of the program, applicants are usually between the ages of 16 and 18.
- Educational Status: You must be enrolled in high school or its globally recognized equivalent.
- Northern Hemisphere: Graduation is often anticipated one to two years following program completion.
- Southern Hemisphere: Based on regional educational systems, a comparable graduation schedule must be followed.
- English Language Proficiency: In order to participate fully in an academic setting where English is the primary language of instruction, applicants must exhibit good English language abilities.
- First-Time Eligibility: Applicants must be new to the Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS) program.
