The Asia Foundation and the Asian Art Museum are partnering to offer the 2026 Margaret F. Williams Memorial Fellowship, and applications are now being accepted. This program promotes communication between up-and-coming Asian American and Asian curators.
Two curators of contemporary art, one from Asia and one from the United States, are chosen by the fellowship to spend up to three months as residents of the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco. All program-related costs are entirely covered, and there is no application fee.

Eligibility Criteria :
- Candidates must be from the Pacific Islands, Asia, or the United States in order to be eligible.
- Career Level: Intended for aspiring or up-and-coming curators.
- Professional Background: Candidates from both conventional and unconventional backgrounds are welcome, including:
- Museum curators employed by institutions
- Independent artists or curators
- Experts with backgrounds in digital/online exhibitions or community involvement
- Language Requirement: English proficiency is required.
- A commitment to live in San Francisco for the entire three-month term (June 1–August 31, 2026) is required.
The United States of America is the host nation.

Benefits :
- Transportation and airfare to and from San Francisco for the residency are covered round-trip.
- Housing is offered for the duration of the program, which runs from June 1 to August 31, 2026.
- Daily Living Allowance: A daily stipend to pay for living expenses while on site.
- A $7,500 stipend for a self-planned study journey is provided by the research grant.
