The 2026 Running Start/Walmart Congressional Fellowship, a distinguished program that offers students the chance to work with a member of Congress in a district office or on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., is currently accepting applications. The fellowship offers firsthand experience in the legislative process, constituent services, and the day-to-day operations of Congress, with the goal of assisting students in making the transition from academic life to a career in politics.

In addition to developing relationships with political professionals and other up-and-coming leaders, participants will collaborate closely with U.S. senators or House representatives, obtaining real-world experience in policy research, communication, and community participation. The fellowship is completely financed and includes an all-expenses-paid in-person training intensive in Washington, D.C., covering critical political skills and insider knowledge, in addition to a $1,000 stipend to cover living expenses.

Eligibility Criteria:
