The UNNF Strategic Needs Fellowship 2026 is currently accepting applications. Four months of instruction at OLA/DOALOS at the UN Headquarters in New York are provided by this fully financed program. The fellowship is intended for experts working in ocean affairs and the law of the sea in developing nations, particularly those in Least Developed Countries (LDCs), Small Island Developing States (SIDS), and Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs). Its main objective is to provide advanced training in ocean governance and maritime law while promoting SDG 14: Life Below Water. Fellows will acquire practical skills, specialized knowledge, and exposure to other countries. Below are further specifics on eligibility, perks, and the application procedure.
Eligibility Criteria :
- Age range: 25–40 years.
- Education: Earning a first degree from a university.
- Profession: Mid-level professional from a government or non-government agency (including government officials).
- Nationality: A person from a developing nation.
- Interest: Exhibited a keen interest in the subjects covered by the UN Nippon Foundation scholarship.
