For German and foreign applicants, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Research Grants 2026–2027 offer completely supported research opportunities in Germany. The program provides a €1,400 monthly salary in addition to extra money for accommodation, travel, and family expenses. Eligibility Criteria :
- PhD candidates must have begun their studies no more than three years prior to the application deadline.
- Doctorates must have been earned within the four years prior to the application deadline for postdoctoral researchers.
- Special Fields: According to the official DAAD rules, applicants in the fields of dentistry, veterinary medicine, and human medicine are subject to additional regulations.
- Residency Requirement: Candidates are ineligible if they have been in Germany for more than 15 months as of the application deadline.
