The United Nations International Law Fellowship 2026 in the Netherlands is now accepting applications. The Peace Palace in The Hague will host this esteemed annual three-week summer program from June 29 to July 31, 2026.
Up to 20 people from all across the world will be chosen for the fellowship. There is no application fee, and the organizers will pay for all program-related costs. The program’s primary goal is to improve participants’ knowledge of international law and give them a better grasp of the legal work that the UN does.
Throughout the fellowship, participants will participate in academic discussions, attend a number of lectures and seminars given by specialists in the subject of international law, and investigate current legal challenges on a worldwide scale. Eligibility Criteria:
- In keeping with the program’s goal of encouraging greater geographic representation and capacity-building in international law, the fellowship is open to candidates who are citizens of developing nations and emerging economies.
- In addition to having a legal degree, candidates must have demonstrated professional expertise in the field of international law through employment in government agencies, academic institutions, international organizations, or comparable legal practices.
- Since full participation in all lectures, seminars, and academic activities is required, applicants must be fully available and willing to attend for the duration of the program.
