United Nations International Fellowship 2026 (Fully Funded)

The United Nations Fellowship Program is organized by the United Nations Office of Legal Affairs Codification Division in cooperation with Ethiopia, the African Union, and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa.

A round-trip economy ticket to Geneva, basic health insurance, and a stipend to cover living expenses and lodging are given to the chosen fellows.

The fellowship provides top-notch instruction on important subjects and contemporary international concerns from eminent academics and practitioners in international law. Participants are encouraged to share professional experiences and ideas thanks to its interactive format.

The program’s main goal is to assist competent professionals in strengthening their competence and advancing international law, particularly government officials and international law instructors from developing and emerging-economy nations.

Eligibility Criteria :              

  • possess a legal education and work experience in the area of international law.
  • Be proficient in the language of instruction, which for the 2026 course will be English.
  • Extra Conditions
  • Candidates that are chosen must attest to their uninterrupted attendance throughout the full course.
  • There can only be a maximum of 20 participants in the Regional Course.
  • Proficiency in both verbal and writing French is also necessary for the 2026 Fellowship Program, which will be administered in English.

The Netherlands is the host nation.

IELTS is not necessary for the English test.

Benefits :

  • The 2026 Fellowship Programme will be held at the Peace Palace in The Hague, the Netherlands, from June 29 to July 31, 2026. The program will be conducted in English or French
  • For those participants receiving a fellowship, the fellowship will cover travel, accommodation, meals, medical insurance, and training materials.
  • Fellowship recipients will also receive a modest stipend to cover other living expenses in accordance with the policies and procedures governing the administration of United Nations fellowships.
  • A comprehensive set of training materials is provided for each participant at the beginning of the Fellowship Programme.
  • Certificates are also awarded to those participants who have completed the Fellowship Programme in its entirety.
  • In addition, the interactive nature of the training allows the participants to share experiences and exchange ideas, which promotes greater understanding and cooperation on legal matters in the region.
