Mastercard Scholarship at Makerere University for Africans 2026 – Fully Funded

The 2026 Mastercard Scholarship at Makerere University, which provides fully supported opportunities for undergraduate and graduate study, is now accepting applications. Full tuition, housing, living expenses, meals, a laptop, and return airfare are all covered by the scholarship.

This program, which is funded by the Mastercard Foundation, aims to eliminate financial obstacles and cultivate future leaders who are dedicated to making a positive effect on their communities. The goal of the renewed collaboration with Makerere University (2023–2034) is to offer 1,000 scholarships at the main campus during a ten-year period.

This opportunity gives students the support, leadership training, and high-quality education they need to excel academically and make significant contributions to their communities.

Eligibility Criteria :

  • must be eligible to enter the main campus of Makerere University.
  • Candidates for undergraduate degrees must have finished their Advanced Level schooling (or its equivalent) in an African nation.
  • Applicants for master’s degrees must have earned their bachelor’s degree in an African nation.
  • Show that you have a track record of community service and significant leadership potential.
  • Not eligible for any other scholarship
  • For undergraduate applicants, be younger than 28.
  • Applicants for master’s degrees must be under 35. Refugees and applicants with disabilities: Undergraduate students must be 32 years old, and master’s students must be 40.
  • Applicants for refugee status must present official documentation (attestation).

Uganda is the host nation.

Africa is the study destination.

IELTS Requirement: Not necessary
