The Mandela Rhodes Scholarships 2026 in South Africa are now accepting applications. Beginning in the 2027 academic year, recipients of this fully financed program, which is available to South African natives, can pursue either a 2-year Master’s degree or a 1-year Honors degree.
The Mandela Rhodes Scholarship was founded in 2003 with the goal of promoting academic brilliance, ethics, and leadership throughout Africa in remembrance of Nelson Mandela and Cecil Rhodes. Scholars can devote all of their attention to their studies and personal growth thanks to the program’s extensive financial support. Over 300 young African scholars and leaders have benefited from this esteemed opportunity thus far, receiving leadership training and access to a revolutionary network that will equip them for significant careers on the continent.
Eligibility Criteria :
- be a national of any African nation.
- be in the 19–30 age range.
- academic credentials and a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent.
- demonstrated leadership traits and skills in your workplace, school, or society.
- Be dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship, education, and reconciliation in your community.
- Maintain a log of your volunteer and community service activities.
- Be open to taking part in the scholarship program’s community participation and leadership development initiatives.

Benefits :
- Tuition and Registration Fees: Complete reimbursement for tuition and registration at a South African institution with accreditation.
- In order to lower travel expenses, economy class airfare covers round-trip flights to and from the institution.
- Housing: A monthly allowance for utilities and living expenses is given along with a furnished apartment or residence hall.
- Monthly Stipend: A substantial allowance to pay for personal expenditures, transportation, and food.
