West Africa Civil Society Institute Internship 2026 | Fully Funded

The goal of the fully sponsored WACSI Next Generation Internship Program is to help young West Africans develop their professional potential and practical abilities. It was developed in response to civil society’s need for organized capacity building.

For the course of the program, the internship offers complete assistance, including round-trip airfare, furnished housing, lunch on working days, and a monthly stipend.

A regional non-governmental organization called the West Africa Civil Society Institute (WACSI) works to promote the sustainability and efficacy of civil society organizations. In order to assist Nigerian capacity-building, a nodal office was set up in Abuja in 2022. Interns will participate in the planning and execution of WACSI’s primary initiatives while obtaining practical experience in development and civic engagement.

Eligibility Criteria :

  • A first degree in international affairs, political science, public policy, law, development studies, or a similar discipline is required.
  • should show an interest in managing non-profit organizations and civic society.
  • Candidates must be from Togo, Guinea, Niger, or Nigeria.
  • should be inspired to improve professional abilities and civic consciousness.

Essential Competencies:

  • strong interest in managing NGOs and civic society
  • Outstanding writing, research, and verbal and written communication abilities
  • Proficiency with online research and Microsoft Office
  • Proficiency in two languages (preferably English and Portuguese or French and English)
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration abilities

Nigeria is the host nation.
