This guide outlines the step-by-step process to apply successfully. The scholarship supports a research project at the Whitehall Deer Research Facility, located on UGA’s main campus in Athens, Georgia.
The project is a collaborative effort involving experts from the Deer Laboratory (Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources), the Southeastern Cooperative Wildlife Disease Study, and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. In the short term, selected students will also contribute to outreach and extension activities.
Eligibility Criteria :
- shown interest in genetics, illness research, white-tailed deer, and/or wildlife biology
- A bachelor’s degree in pre-veterinary studies, wildlife biology and management, or a similar discipline
- 3.0 as a minimum undergraduate GPA
- Computer proficiency and a desire to learn statistical analysis and R programming
