The DAAD Helmut Schmidt Scholarship 2027, a fully financed opportunity for overseas students to pursue a master’s degree in Germany, is now accepting applications. Alongside the DAAD EPOS Scholarship, it is regarded as one of DAAD’s most distinguished scholarship programs that supports future leaders in governance and public policy.

The scholarship, which is funded by the German Federal Foreign Office, does not require an application fee and pays for all significant study-related costs. The academic curriculum is taught exclusively in English and is set to start in September 2027.

  • have finished a 16-year education program at an accredited university that is equivalent to a bachelor’s degree.
  • Apply to a master’s program that has been authorized by the Helmut Schmidt Scholarship.
  • Candidates may choose and submit applications for a maximum of two master’s degree programs.
  • It is required that all application materials be submitted in either German or English.
  • Applicants are not limited by age.
