All eligible candidates must be professional photographers, regardless of their age or nationality. Their work ought to remain unpublished in France, barring commissions from the press and advertising. A prize of \u20ac10,000 is given to the winner to help in their creative pursuits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eight members of the artistic community make up the jury, and Sylvia Schildge is the permanent president. The jury chooses the award. The government has no influence over the choice, which is kept private.
