Functioning as a charity, it highlights the significance of proficient local economists for enduring development in sub-Saharan Africa. AERC supports policy research and graduate education with an emphasis on improving economic policy capacity for Francophone and Anglophone African countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With great pleasure, AERC announces that Ph.D. scholarships are now available for the 2024\u20132025 academic year. Applicants from Francophone and Anglophone sub-Saharan African nations who have been accepted into any of the academic institutions involved in the AERC Collaborative PhD Programme (CPP) in Economics are eligible to apply for these scholarships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ph.D. scholarships for the 2024\/2025 academic year are available to candidates who have been accepted into the Economics degree programs offered by the universities participating in the AERC Collaborative PhD Programme (CPP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>University of Cape Town, South Africa<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>University of Abomey-Calavi, Benin<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>University of Benin, Nigeria<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>F\u00e9lix Houphouet-Boigny University, C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>University Cheikh Anta Diop in Dakar, Senegal<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>University of Ibadan, Nigeria<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>University of Nairobi, Kenya<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>University of Yaound\u00e9 II, Cameroon<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>University of Pretoria<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>University of Witwatersrand, South Africa<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Eligibility Criteria:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>It is necessary to be admitted to one of the designated CPP universities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is required to have at least a Second Class Honours (Upper Division) in Economics, Agricultural Economics, or a similar discipline from an accredited university.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is required to hold a Master&#8217;s degree in Economics, Agricultural Economics, or comparable subjects from an approved university, which includes coursework and a thesis component.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is beneficial to have at least one pertinent article in a peer-reviewed journal.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is also beneficial to show that one is involved in public sector training, research, and\/or economic management.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We especially encourage women and people from fragile and post-conflict areas to apply.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Deadline: <\/strong>August 31, 2024<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/training.aercafrica.org\/admissionnew\">Apply Button<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.istockphoto.com\/\">Image credit<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With the goal of advancing economic policy research and teaching throughout Africa, the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC) was established in 1988.
