All billable AU expenditures are covered by the American University Global Leader Scholarship, including full tuition, lodging, and board. The university also grants partial scholarships up to $40,000 annually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For those who are interested in applying, this post provides an extensive overview of the scholarship, including information on the requirements, awards, eligibility criteria, necessary paperwork, and application process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>International diversity is enhanced and educational access and opportunity are promoted through the AU Emerging Global Leader Scholarship (AU EGLS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Up to four years of undergraduate education are covered by the AU EGL scholarship, provided that the student maintains a good GPA. Students may apply if they are interested in any degree provided by AU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students at American University come from 123 different countries and all 50 states. In addition to American residents attending secondary schools abroad, a large number of students are foreign nationals who provide their distinct viewpoints to our community of changemakers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will be academically challenged by American University and have access to one of the world&#8217;s most multicultural cities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Eligibility Criteria:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Be an international student who has surmounted a variety of difficulties and hardships, particularly for individuals from varied and marginalized socioeconomic and global origins.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be in the top 10% of your graduating class or have a minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 4.0 for grades 9 through 12.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Exhibit a dedication to community service, leadership, volunteering, and improving the needs of the people in your own nation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Host Country: USA<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Eligible Countries: All Countries<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Benefits:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The AU EGL scholarship pays for all billable AU costs for one international student who needs to study in the US on a non-immigrant visa (ideally an F-1 or J-1 student visa), including full tuition, housing, and board.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Non-billable costs like required health insurance, books, airfare, taxes, and other incidentals (about $4,000 year) are not covered by the scholarship.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Deadline: December 1, 2024<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.american.edu\/admissions\/international\/au-egls-apply.cfm\">Apply Button<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.american.edu\/about\/\">Image credit<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The American University Emerging Global Leader Scholarship supports international diversity, encourages access to education, and pays for all costs.
