The 2025 AI4D Africa Scholarship Program is now accepting applications!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Funding of up to $41,500 is available to applicants of the **AI4D Africa Scholarship** (Artificial Intelligence for Development in Africa). Tuition, research fees, and travel expenses to the African Centre for Technology Studies (ACTS) are all covered by this grant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Important information: The UK&#8217;s Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO) and the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) are the scholarship&#8217;s funders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Its main objective is to assist female candidates in sub-Saharan Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>PhD candidates in machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) are eligible for funding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Research in AI and ML is being done by early career academics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Research initiatives need to focus on one or more of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Eligibility Criteria :<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In addition to having finished their courses and research proposal, applicants must already be enrolled in an AI-related program (such as machine learning, expert systems, natural language processing, intelligent robots, etc.) under a supervisor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The application must be accompanied by a copy of their PhD admission letter and a letter of support from their supervisor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Candidates should exhibit drive and dedication to pursuing an academic career in addition to having solid academic credentials.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Candidates must be fluent in either Portuguese or French, the language of instruction at their host university.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Candidates must be citizens or long-term inhabitants of a sub-Saharan African nation that qualifies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Host: African Centre for Technology Studies (ACTS)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Eligible Countries: Sub-Saharan African Countries<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Reward: Full Scholarship worth $41,500 | Travel and Research Expenses<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Benefits :<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Financial Aid: Scholarships will pay for books, tuition, project\/application fees, and other educational expenses.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support for Accessibility: AI ethics toolkits will be continuously available to scholars, offering direction for the ethical creation and expandable use of AI solutions in a variety of settings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ethics and Mentoring: A mentor with expertise in the responsible scaling of AI solutions will be assigned to each scholar.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collaborative Learning and Networking: Scholars and AI innovation hubs throughout the continent will have the chance to network and learn from one another.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Deadline: March 14, 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Apply now :<\/strong> <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ai4d.acts-net.org\/ai4d-innovationspillar-scholarship\/\">Link<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Image credit :<\/strong> <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/msmeafricaonline.com\/call-for-applications-ai4d-artificial-intelligence-ai-and-machine-learning-ml-scholarship-program-2025-for-africans-up-to-41500\/\">Link<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Do you have a strong interest in AI and machine learning?
