The Alberta Graduate Excellence Scholarship (AGES) is a prestigious scholarship intended to recognize outstanding academic achievement among University of Alberta graduate students pursuing master’s or doctoral degrees. Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be registered as a full-time student for Fall 2025 and/or Winter 2026
- (newly admitted students may be enrolled only in Winter 2026).
- Must reside in Alberta during the study period and ensure that the home or local address is updated in Bear Tracks.
- Must complete the AGES Student Declaration Form confirming Alberta residency.
- Must demonstrate strong academic achievement, shown through:
- A minimum GPA of 3.3 in the most recent 15 units of coursework
- (or Admission GPA for new students).
- Research contributions, publications, presentations, artistic performances, or community involvement.
- Prior academic awards, scholarships, or recognitions.
- Must be enrolled in years 1–4 of a master’s program or years 1–6 of a doctoral program.
- Students who have previously received the AGES or are in qualifying programs are not eligible.

- Although the prize is not renewable, students who continue to meet eligibility requirements may be recommended by their professors in subsequent years.
