Round 1 Joint Japan World Bank Scholarship 2026 (Fully Funded)

The Joint Japan–World Bank Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP) 2026 is now accepting applications. International students can use this completely financed scholarship to pursue a master’s degree at specific colleges in the US, Europe, Africa, Oceania, and Japan.

At 24 member universities, the program provides 41 master’s programs that are eligible. Applicants must first get an unconditional admission offer from one of the master’s programs approved by JJ/WBGSP in order to be eligible for the award. Only applicants who have been granted unconditional admission to a participating program are given access to the scholarship application form.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Nationality: Candidates must be nationals of a developing nation.
  • Citizenship Status: It is not allowed to hold dual citizenship in any industrialized nation.
  • Candidates must be in good physical and mental health.
  • Educational Requirement: At least three years before the application deadline, a bachelor’s degree (or its equivalent) must be obtained.
  • Admission Requirement: By the scholarship application deadline, candidates must have been granted unconditional admission to a master’s program that participates.
  • Professional Experience: Within the last six years, you must have at least three years of full-time, paid work experience relevant to development. Part-time experience that is pertinent may also be taken into account.
