Next Generation Trigger Project 2026 – Fully Funded

The Next Generation Trigger Project 2026 in Switzerland is now accepting applications. Candidates from both Member and Non-Member States are welcome to apply for this fully financed program offered by CERN. The chosen participants will work on their PhD research for up to 36 months in a fast-paced setting where creativity, science, and technology converge. They will become part of an international community of professionals and have practical experience at the forefront of engineering and research. CERN covers all costs, and there is no application fee.

Eligibility Criteria :

  • Fluency in either French or English
  • Your university’s support, attesting to the fact that your CERN study will advance your doctoral thesis
  • Study field that is pertinent to the research areas of CERN (such as physics, engineering, computing, or related applied sciences)
  • enrolled in or about to start a doctorate (PhD) program

Where: Switzerland

Funding: The program is fully supported.

Contract duration: 12 months (renewable up to 3 years)

Work Mode: Flexible hybrid
