The 2026 Japan Study Support Scholarship in Japan is now accepting applications. Applications for undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degree programs are open to international students from all around the world.
Benesse Corporation, in partnership with the Asian Students Cultural Association, offers the scholarship to students who intend to pursue further study in Japan.
Through the JPSS platform, this initiative helps students establish solid academic links with Japanese universities while also offering financial support. The scholarship enables students to concentrate on their studies and cultural experiences in Japan by lowering their study costs.
Students are strongly urged to apply for this important opportunity if they are accepted into Japanese universities.
Eligibility Criteria :
- Candidates must be enrolled in a Japanese university’s undergraduate or graduate program beginning in the spring (April/May) or fall (September–November) intake.
- Students participating in Japanese language programs or short-term courses are ineligible.
- Applicants must have a Japan Study Support (JPSS) MY PAGE account.
- Before being admitted to the university, candidates must have been notified via the JPSS Scout Function. They must be able to attend interviews in both Japanese and English.
- To transfer scholarship funds, applicants must have a personal bank account in Japan (internet banking accounts are not permitted).
- Japanese nationals are not permitted to apply.
