Maastricht University Netherlands NL – High Potential Scholarship 2026 (Fully Funded)

Twenty-one fully funded scholarships, each worth €34,000, are awarded by this program to cover living expenses, tuition, and other benefits for the academic year 2026–2027.

The Maastricht University Scholarship Fund’s High Potential Scholarship and the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture, and Science’s NL Scholarship are the two main funding sources for this scholarship. The prize is only given to non-EU/EEA students who have been accepted into one of Maastricht University’s qualifying Master’s programs.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Candidates must be citizens of a country other than the EU/EEA (Swiss and Surinamese nationals are also ineligible).
  • To study in the Netherlands, candidates must be qualified for both a residence permit and an entry visa (MVV).
  • For the 2025–2026 intake, candidates must apply to Maastricht University’s full-time Master’s program.
  • Students who have earned a full degree in the Netherlands are not eligible to apply, but those who have previously participated in an exchange program there are.
  • By September 1, 2026, candidates must be at least 35 years old.
  • Candidates must have exceptional academic performance, with a minimum GPA of at least 7.5 out of 10.
  • All necessary documents must be accurately submitted at once since only one complete application submission is permitted.

Benefits:

  • Living allowance: €30,625 for a 25-month program or €15,925 for a 13-month program.
  • Included are about €700 in health and liability insurance costs.
