The 2027 Hokkaido University MEXT Scholarship in Japan is now accepting applications. Outstanding overseas applicants to the Graduate School of Environmental Science’s Master’s and PhD programs are supported by this fully funded opportunity.
The MEXT Scholarship Program, which is funded by the Japanese government, gives chosen students a monthly stipend in addition to complete tuition and travel expenses.
The fellowship is open to students starting their studies in the October 2027 intake and is a component of the “Graduate Program for Environmental Conservation Leadership for Post SDGs.” For students interested in environmental science and sustainable development in Japan, this program offers top-notch academic and research opportunities.
Eligibility Criteria :
- Candidates must be overseas students with exceptional graduate-level academic accomplishments, whether they are new to Japan or already reside there.
- During the scholarship period, candidates must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.30 out of 3.00 in their finished or ongoing coursework.
- Candidates must fulfill a minimum of one of the following English language prerequisites:
- Obtain a B2 or above on an English proficiency test that is recognized by the CEFR.
- Complete prior English-language coursework that meets the standards for admission to a Japanese graduate school’s Master’s or PhD programs
- Candidates must fulfill the requirements for admission to graduate programs at Hokkaido University.
