London School of Hygiene & University of Nigeria Nsukka Scholarship 2026 | Fully Funded

The 2026 London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) and University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) Scholarship is currently accepting applications. Qualified Nigerian MSc and PhD candidates seeking Research Assistantship posts at UNN are eligible for this fully supported opportunity. The fellowship offers mentorship, co-authorship chances, access to global professional networks, full tuition reimbursement, and a monthly stipend. The study, “Professional Personhood among Africa’s Paradoxically Surplus Health Workers,” uses a mixed-methods technique to examine the socio-cultural and political-economic issues influencing health workers in Nigeria, Zambia, and Uganda. Successful applicants will contribute to important studies addressing healthcare workforce concerns throughout Africa while gaining invaluable research experience.

Eligibility Criteria :

  • MSc students in Medical Anthropology, Sociology, Demography, Public Health, Health Policy, Health Systems, Development Studies, or a similar discipline must be enrolled or prospective.
  • should be very interested in research on health workforces and health systems.
  • Research abilities and a will to learn are required.
  • should have strong organizing and communication skills.
  • It is advantageous to have experience gathering and analyzing research data.
  • A PhD candidate in Medical Anthropology, Sociology, Demography, Public Health, Health Policy, Health Systems, Development Studies, or a similar field must be enrolled or prospective.
  • should show an interest in labor studies, sociology of professions, health systems, health workforce research, or related subjects.
  • Experience with qualitative research techniques is required.

Nigeria, the United Kingdom (UK), and a few places in Africa are the host countries.

Scholarships at the Postgraduate, Master’s, and PhD levels
